Behind The Lens

Location

Tower Arch, Arches National Park, Utah

Time

this was a afternoon hike to a remote Arch that not too many people visit because of the dirt roads..

Lighting

waited until afternoon to get the sun coming into the arch, to create the Picture Window

Equipment

Nikon D810, was handheld because of the hike.. water was more important.

Inspiration

wanted to set a Picture window looking out to another view but showcase how big this arch really was, so the volunteer set the stage for comparison.

Editing

not here... this one is natural light and settings.. would have brought more color in for the sky if I had done anything else... shadows were just where I wanted them

In my camera bag

35.-200 zoom, 12-24 Ultra wide, 50mm fixed, tripod, remote triggers and flash for backlighting when shooting old buildings and other objects

Feedback

this one could have been slightly better for the suns angle earlier in the year.. but maybe not as dramatic with shadows.. might have to try again :)
