Are you trying to be funny entering this into the "Breathtaking Views" photo challenge or was it a mistake? Ha, Ha.

It was not intended to be funny of a mistake! I thought it could be a original interpretation of a breathtaking view.
For sure it was breathtaking and a view both from my side of view as well from the view of the helicopter personal. But when you only like breathtaking views in landscaping photographs I probably have some others for you. Ho, ho!

Location
The image is made on the "Beekhuizerzand" near Harderwijk (Netherlands). In this part of the Veluwe forest there are sand dunes. This part of the forest is a militairy training site for UN military.Time
Around noon (12:00 hr). That's the time the Cinook helicopters often come over and land on the sandplain.Lighting
I knew before I liked a image like this. So I took a short shutterspeed, set the image stabilizer of the lens on tracking horizontaal movements and took some trial shots before. When the helicopter came over I only had to focus and track (which is not easy with a fast moving object and heavy lens).Equipment
Canon 5D1, 100-400 L lens + 1.4 x teleconverter, pol filter.Inspiration
I wanted the movement captured.Editing
No post-processing took place. Just canon DPP program to develop the CR2 RAW image into a JPG.In my camera bag
Canon 5D1, Sigma 24-105 ART, 100-400 L, 1.4x convertor, macro-ring, extra batteries, tripod, mono-pod, 1000 ND-filter, Pol filters, ND-grad filter.Feedback
1 - Take time to set your camera. 2 - Take some trial shots. 3 - Look what background you want. 4 - Be aware for dust when changing lenses.
