Location
This photo was taken on a walk with my friends, in Gornji Grad Zagreb one autumn day.Time
I believe it was taken around noon, because I remember Gric Cannon traditionally firing and startling us while we were roaming the streets and passages of Gornji Grad.Lighting
I liked the scene because of its already strong natural contrast, the dark of the passage and building walls and then a silhouette of a man standing there opposed to the yellow wall.Equipment
I used my first digital camera, a Canon 600D, its kit lense (18-55mm) and my hand.Inspiration
I knew that there was something in there with this heavy feeling and dark-yellow dynamics, and the subject (my friend) making different poses and making me laugh, but really taking the space of the yellow wall so beautifully that it inspired me to capture it.Editing
I made some adjustments to the contrast so to give it an even stronger look.In my camera bag
I tend to pack lighlty, and the basic equipment for my Canon camera I usually had on me was my beloved 50mm lense, an 18-55mm (a force of habit, but never underestimate what it can do!) and another lense depending on where I am headed that day. What I find really important is to have an extra battery with you, and having an extra SD card really can't hurt. I always have my analogue camera and couple of film rolls with me, which I end up using most of the time.Feedback
Be in the moment and look for stark contrasts.
