Behind The Lens
Location
Took this photo at a Recreational Park close to where I live. I love capturing nature when it's unusually unique.Time
This photo was captured around 1pm when the sun was still playing hide and seek in the clouds on a cloudy day. This photo is one of my favourites because it just portrays so much positive vibes to the person looking at it. It is a happy picture to look at when you are depressed and under the weather perhaps. The warm contrast of colours just makes you happy again.Lighting
I wanted this image to look mysterious and to draw the viewer to see what I see and how I see it. The sun was behind the clouds on the left side outside the frame and just broke out of the clouds partially hence portraying the balance of sun and shadows in the shot.Equipment
Usually I use a Canon 5d Mark 2 to capture anything I intend to capture, but this shot was clicked spontaneously and without any preparation beforehand. The equipment just included my smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus on the PRO mode in camera settings. This is what makes me proud that the photograph did a good job justifying and capturing the beauty of the real actual moment.Inspiration
Observing and imagining textures in nature constantly is what I do naturally as a photographer. Looking up at trees from beneath really makes you rethink trees from a texture background point of view most times. The blend of all autumn colours coming together in one frame is what makes this shot so special.Editing
Yes, for smartphone photography editing sometimes and post-processing is important to get the details popping. But fortunately on rare occasions that's not necessary, like in this instance. Sometimes editing can ruin the natural beauty of a photograph and make it unreal very quickly. For this particular photograph, I left it as it is because I thought it was perfect as it was.In my camera bag
Normally I do carry my Canon 5D Mark 2 with a 85-300mm lens and a 55mm lens too. I also carry my smartphone the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus as a back up.Feedback
I'm not a Pro photographer yet but I can say this. One needs to understand lighting, how single source light is always better to use while taking photographs specially if you just starting as an amateur photographer, and know how to fill your frame without having odd empty spaces lurking around without purpose, twist and turn your camera accordingly before taking the shot.
