Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Varsova beach in Mumbai.

Time

It was a regular sunny day when I was taking a walk at the beach with my camera. The sun was about to set when I noticed a boat crossing me. The sharp golden light was creating a beautiful silhouette.

Lighting

The lighting was all natural. The sun was about to set and it was emmiting a golden light which was too beautiful to let go without clicking a picture.

Equipment

I used a Nikon d5300 without any tripod or flashlight.

Inspiration

I was all alone wandering around the beach to get some good pictures as it was a non productive week. I had to take some shots even if those weren't worth but on a contrary note I got some really good pictures that day. The sole inspiration of this picture was the light I was witnessing.

Editing

Usually this kind of pictures need a lot of post processing but I just touched up the picture a bit to enhance the silhouette, the dark and bright areas and to give the picture an overall mood and tone.

In my camera bag

The first thing I keep in my camera is a 50mm lens because that's the lens I use most of the time. I usually keep a 6d mark 2 with a 2 batteries and a 24-105mm, 50mm or a Nikon d5300 with a 18-55mm and a 70-300mm as they say it's not about what lens you use but how you use it. I've started keeping a tripod and 2 flashes nowadays.

Feedback

Just have patience and keep open your eyes.
