Shot on the Manali Leh highway, between Sarchu and Pang, Jammu and Kashmir.
The river in the picture is called Kangla Jal, a wild running nallah during the months of summers due to melting snow.

When we visited in early September, 2016, it was quite and dry, though extremely cold during the morning hours.
The road is a national highway, which gets build every year during the months of summers and is a very hard to maintain road due to remoteness of the area. The area is closed shut in the winter months. There is litterally no one who lives here. The last village on the Manali leh highway being Darcha which is about 150 Kms from here. The next one is about 150 km away!
