MY Top Model Just Outside Eureka Springs A.R.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken west of Eureka Springs Arkansas. We

Time

Well Susan ( the model) and I were headed to the airport as she had to fly back to Colorado the next day it was about 2 pm when this old homestead caught my eye.

Lighting

It's was a slightly overcast day and so we stopped and did an on the spot shoot, she's a natural in front of the camera. And a great friend. We spent two days enjoying the town of Eureka Springs shooting photos and reminiscing, as we actually met in the 4th grade and hadn't seen each other in 35 plus years we have remained friends ever since.

Equipment

shot with a Sony cyber shot H300, handheld.

Inspiration

My inspiration was the rickety old farmhouse. I instantly knew she was the right Model for the situation so we set about clicking off frame after frame. This was my favorite shot.

Editing

I knew this called for a Black and White effect.

In my camera bag

My motto is, never leave home without my cameras. I carry my sony 35 digital and a backup Nikon Coolpix. Along with a tripod and extra batteries.

Feedback

My advice is to always look into the scene with an open mind and think in Black & White even though it's a world of color surrounding us.
