This photo was taken in cotton field in Idalou, Texas
Time
I had just completed a photo shoot with 2 of our granddaughters right at sunset and noticed that the moon was absolutely gorgeous.
Lighting

Equipment
Canon EOS Digital Rebel with a Canon EF 70-200mm lens, no flash. Exposure was set to f2.8, 1/400, ISO-400
Inspiration
I love candid shots! Our granddaughters are 4 months apart and love spending time together. The only direction they were given was to walk down this cotton field road since I wanted to get a few shots of the girls walking toward me with the moon in the background.

In my camera bag
My go to lens is usually the Canon EF 70-200mm since it was the first "real" lens to shoot with. I love the versatility of it but I think my husband is experiencing some regrets when he let me borrow it since I now use it more than he does. However, I also shoot with a Canon EF 50mm 1.4 lens. Last Christmas I purchased a Canon 5D MKIII and absolutely love it!
Feedback
I have often found that my favorite photos end up being the one's that were not planned. I take a lot of shots before, during, and after the real shot I'm trying to get, but the magic seems to happen in those in-between moments when everything is natural. When it comes to kids just let them play for a few moments and you can really get some great candid moments.
