I arrived early one morning to photograph the Launch of NASA's TDRS-L communications satellite and noticed the flat calm waters of the turn basin. I am always looking for reflection shots here and the water is often choppy due to the winds coming off of the Atlantic Ocean, but on this rare morning the conditions were perfect.

This is the waterway that was originally created to receive the massive first and second stages of the Apollo Saturn V moon rocket and the later used for the Space Shuttle External Fuel Tanks. I've also been fortunate enough to shoot some launches from the roof of this massive building and each time it is always an awe-inspiring experience.
