Location
This is a local swan. He lives at the pond in Forest Park, Shelbyville, IL.Time
I took this photo at twilight. I waited for the sun to reflect the water just right.Lighting
The sun was low in the sky, near sunset, which is my time to shoot photos. I knew part of the sunset colors would reflect favorably on th3 pond.Equipment
Canon Rebel. No flash, no tripod.Inspiration
I love swans. I could take hundreds of him. Everything he does is so graceful!Editing
Just a little editing to saturate the colors. In my camera bag
A zoom lens 75-300 and an 10-18mm.Feedback
Wait until the light is right. Also, try many different angles. Do so by walking around your subject, because this will change your light in your shot dramatically. My favorite time to shoot is sunset, or just before, when you get the glorious golden light.
