Location
These two young men are Bedouin from the Negev Desert. Their hospitality is amazing. Having just had their homes bulldozed in the days before they still gave time to roast their coffee beans to welcome us. Afterward we sat on a huge rug in the shade of a tree.Time
Despite the heat and the blazing sun they still prepared the coffee around the hot charcoals.Lighting
The back lighting gives a depth to the photo, even separating the tossed coffee beans. The strong shadow gives the context of the bright late morning sun.Equipment
Simply a Canon 40DInspiration
I was meeting people around Palestine and Israel to find out about the social and political issues over land. The Bedouin are Israeli citizens, but these ones explained how their villages were being systematically knocked down in an attempt to make them move from their land. In fact these families had been bulldozed over thirty times but refused to move. I found their non violent resistance to the violation of their human and political rights totally inspiring. Their hospitality, resilience and despair was truly amazing and the photo captured it for me..Editing

I did ask their permission, then took several shots as they relaxed after the first one.
