Italian Greyhounds: Alfie and Nina

behind the lens badge

Alfie left; Nina right.
Very cute, but very dumb. Or maybe it's an elaborate ruse. :D

What a great shot! Certainly, many memes could be made with this photograph. Hahaha!

Behind The Lens

Location

I shot this photo in my backyard.

Time

It was midday-ish... I remember it was overcast.

Lighting

Overcast skies are great for getting smooth tones.

Equipment

Canon 40D, handheld with a 24-70mm f/2.8L and ambient light.

Inspiration

This was shot when Nina, the one in front, got a new collar. She was really excited about it and was hopping all around the yard. When the camera came out, she was very curious... so that's the look on her face.

Editing

Not much processing here... b&w and crop.

In my camera bag

What's always in my bag: Camera (right now either 5D3 or my film body, Elan IIE), extra batteries, lenspen, filterpen, lens wipes, lens tissue, air duster or rocket blaster, and some combo of these Canon lenses: 24-70mm F2.8L, 70-200mm F2.8L IS II, and 35mm F2 IS

Feedback

Get low for pets (and kids). Watch for distracting objects in your background. Find a way to get your subjects' attention long enough to frame/focus.
