Vancouver is a stressful city for a newbie who isn't working. So, I would try to relax by hunting for shots.

This was shot on tri-X with a 50mm Canon lens at f-1.8, 1-125th of a second on a bright sunny day. There was an overhang and the concrete reflected the sunlight around us just so.

A prime example of a one-shot opportunity. I saw both of these tikes in the wagon, obviously exhausted from a full day on Commercial Drive in Vancouver. I asked permission to take a shot, telling the mother it was for my portfolio. She agreed and I pointed the camera. It's just then that the girl turned and looked at me as if saying: "I've had a long day, why are you bothering me?" I couldn't believe she was giving me the look I needed to take.
