Somhlolo ebhuqwini, is a documentary project about a dusty soccer ground. Located in Katlehong, older than my 30 plus years – it has produced township legends and keeps promoting the rich culture of township football. It is my personal visual journey with the space and the many characters that make the narrative. It is a story of celebration and hope, a visual record that will hopefully act as a reference because many times the manner in which we are portrayed as black people is often very negative and news reports about the townships border on undignified representation and never about daily life in the townships. © Jabulile Pearl Hlanze
