Location
This was during a 3-day extreme endure event, did the video production for the event organizer. We were waiting for the bikes to come up a steep hill and the mist came rolling in and covered the whole valley. This was in the forest close to Maclear, Eastern Cape.Time
Early morning about 9 amLighting
The mist was just starting to cover the area and sun still coming out over the hills from the back of the forest.Equipment
This is the part that not a lot of photographers will like, this was taken on my Huawei Mate S, cell phone - was doing the video shoot and riding on a motorbike to cover the event. I carry my canon xf100 in my front chest bag and my DJI on my back so no space for any extra cameras. I use the phone as a screen for the DJIInspiration
As we were waiting I walked around to look for a break in the mist and saw this section with the mist and sun and just knew I had to try and capture that.Editing
Yes did a bit of contrast and saturation edit on the phone app (Hauwei)In my camera bag
I am not a professional photographer so my equipment as far as photos are limited, I use a canon D600 with standard lens 55mm and the 250mm, and as always have my cell phone with me sometimes the best equipment is the equipment that you have with you at that time.Feedback
In this case, it was just "luck" practice shots look at the time of day and what the sun and shadows do, sometimes you have to come back to the same spot to redo the shots.
