Location
I was in Varanasi, India when I saw this Sadhu in the street. I asked for permission and I took the photo.Time
When traveling I tend to go out early so I can see more of the place. I took this around 9 o'clock in the morning.Lighting
I like to travel in light weight. 98% of my travel photos were taken with natural light Since this was taken in the morning in shaded area, the sun is my best friend.Equipment
I don't carry much gears when traveling. I took this photo handheld with my Canon 5D Mark III and EF 24 - 105 mm f/4 lens.Inspiration
The people, their culture and tradition. India is such a diverse country and that's what I love about them.Editing
My retouching process is simple and quick. I used photoshop and adjust the highlights, shadows and a bit of sharpness. I believe that photos should not be over retouched but retouching is necessary this days depends how you tell a story. For me retouching is ok as long as the authenticity of the photo remains. In my camera bag
I travel light as much as possible. I don't have any fancy gears. Most of my travel, my go to gears are one DSLR With one lens with extra battery , my phone with power bank, my laptop and external hard drive and one small Led light ( just incase). Tripod and extra camera sometimes it depends where I go.Feedback
Technicality is less important than story telling. You don't need to travel far or spend more just to get your shot. You can start at your home then in your town or in your country. And if you go to a foreign land always respect the people, their culture and tradition. Embrace who they are and it will show in your photo.
