Chhat is a Hindu festival celebrated each year dedicated to the Sun God. Thousands of pilgrims descend upon the holy city of Varanasi during the festival to offer prayers on the banks of the River Ganges. This photo was taken as the devotees offered their prayers. To me this scene depicted the chaos, colors, spiritualism and humanity a person experiences while travelling in India.
