I took this photo in a home studio that I created in Krystals basement in Decatur, Illinois.Time
This was taken in the evening. Both Krystal and I were working jobs at the time so this was a late evening shoot after we both got off of work.Lighting
I bought a meter of lace see through cloth at Walmart. Then I set up two light stands to hang the cloth between them. This was a two light setup. There was a 40 inch softbox behind her and a 24 inch softbox in front of her set up to shoot through the lace.Equipment
Canon 6d, Canon f4 24-105, yongnuo yn560Inspiration
I saw examples of this type of photo on different sites. I love playing with shadows and creating different looks, so Krystal and I decided to try it out.Editing
This only required the basic photo editing. Krystal has a great skin tone and body shape so there was minimal retouching. All I really did was play with the contrast and warmth. In my camera bag
Canon 6d, Canon EOS r. Canon 70-200. Canon 24-105, Canon 50, sigma 18-35, Godox AD200 & Yongnuo YN560 strobes, 5 in 1 diffuser is a must, and a couple different tripods, softboxes and umbrellasFeedback
When trying to create decorative shadows on a model, remember the larger the light source the softer the shadows will be on her body. That is why I ended up using a bare strobe with a honeycomb adapter on later attempts to allow her to stand back further from the cloth. Play with the size and type of light modifier, the lights distance from the cloth, and the models distance from cloth to get the desired effect.
