After backpacking 15 miles my friends and I arrived at a desolate 11,000 foot camping site. We had been traveling for over a week in the High Sierra's on the John Muir Trail and had nestled down with a small cluster of trail friends. While everyone was finishing dinner I found the energy to wander down to this alpine lake and capture this alpenglow as the moon began to rise. The sun had disappeared behind the western mountain range casting a shadow of the western range on the eastern mountains. I was enthralled with the shape and form of the double reflection.
