Behind The Lens

Location

well first I must say that I am really happy and proud to receive this award from viewbug- obviously me and my ricoh camera did a good job among all these great photographers with much better equipment! I took this photo in a little animalpark nearby BAD KISSINGEN,BAVARIA, where I spent-together with my boyfriend- a few relaxed days in a wellnesshotel.

Time

It was in the afternoon, between 3 and 4 pm.

Lighting

nothing special-the daylight was sufficient for this shot.

Equipment

my compact camera ricoh cx5.

Inspiration

it was after the show with the birds of prey for the visitors, we walked along the way and passed a large cage with snow owls.first I did not see any bird in the cage, but then after approaching closer we saw this one sitting on the other side quite close to the wire of the cage and so I was able to shoot from near! obviously he did not like my with my camera and so he opened his beak as if he wanted to say : you disturb my afternoon nap - go away!

Editing

usually I do a bit of postprocessing,I think I used here a bit more contrast and sharpness-so we can see the tiny feathers better.

In my camera bag

I only use my ricoh cx5, it fits perfectly in my bag, so I can take it everyday when I go outside, no matter where, in the city or in the nature, even in the mall I have it with me.

Feedback

be attentive and curious,sometimes a bit patient-every minute something interesting to shoot may show up, wherever you go may something appear worth shooting.
