We were photographing migrating sand hill cranes on the Platte River in March. We parked on a gravel road and had to climb over the guard rail to descend down a steep bank to the river. We took lots of pictures and decided it was getting too dark so climbed back up the steep bank to the road. I was second in line and as I approached the top of the bank, I looked up and my friend was silhouetted perfectly while climbing over the guard rail. The sky was devoid of the clouds of sand hills cranes and grasses and weeds grew beneath the guard rail. I brought the camera up to my eye and snapped this picture.
