A spectacular sunset down at the beach by my house. I bumped up the ISO to 800 (as high as I dare go with a 7D), shot it at 3.2 seconds @f10. Fired the built in on camera flash. I like to do a couple of shots with me in them. It really brings back the feel and memory of the time. I had a lot of fun and got some really nice images. Now for the bad news- When I went to put my camera back in my bag It wasn't there. I realized at that point that earlier in the day I had left my camera bag on a bluff top about 10 miles away. I was shooting an approaching rain squall when lightning started getting very close. I got spooked and ran for cover in my car. I had changed a lens but left my bag on the ground. I usually zip it up and put it on my back. This time I was to excited seeing the storm approaching, I left it on the ground and started shooting. I left my 7D and Canon 10-22 on my tripod when I got in my car instead of putting it back in my bag. I kept it out incase I needed it right away if I saw something worthy of shooting. I went back to the spot after shooting the sunset. But, the bag was gone. And so was my Canon 100-400 and my Canon 50 1.4. Lost a couple of filters too. I had that 100-400 since 2007. It was my go to surf and birding lens. It's going to be hard to replace it...no impossible! I really messed up this time...
