This zebra longwing butterfly is the state butterfly of Florida, found mostly in the Everglades! Here in SC we were battered by Hurricane Matthew but also reaped a beautiful benefit of the winds with this "off course" zebra butterfly feasting on our lantana in our backyard. It's a beauty and I am thrilled I had the opportunity to get many captures of the delicate yet determined beauty of Mother Nature! Thanks for viewing!!! <3 <3

This capture was taken outside our lanai in Bluffton, SC. No tripod, just held my zoomed camera steady as long as it took. The adrenaline kicks in and the hunt for a great shot begins, as long as it takes... It was taken over a big bush of lantana that the zebra was feasting on and the lighting was perfect. I’m an amateur photographer with the God given ability to have enough patience which I find crucial for a great shot. I follow my target as long as it takes to get a great shot. This pic took ~20 minutes to get a feel for the path of this Zebra... Not all insects repeat patterns but many do. If I find and track an insect, bird, etc. with a pattern in flight I’m almost guaranteed a great shot. This pic was especially exciting as this butterfly is Florida state’s butterfly and aren’t seen much in SC. Thanks with respect, Debra TribunaTime

Nikon with zoom. No tripod or flash all muscle!!! lolInspiration
I LOVE nature and Mother Nature has afforded me great opportunities here in South Carolina, now on Hilton Head. We’ve had lots of winds and it seemed just that Florida’s butterflies were off their typical path. I was fascinated by the sheer beauty of the zebra and determined to get a great capture. If this photo goes any further than ViewBug, my ultimate mission will be accomplished for the 1st time!! Not bad for a 67yo going on 68 in May!!!Editing
I did minor highlights of the zebra, no application.on based editing, just adjusted brightness clarity, etc. I could have been submitted in its virgin state but I tweaked it just a bit, and cropped of course. In my camera bag
Nikon with zoom, tripod, extra battery. Cleaning clothes, instruction booklet. All basic routine stuff, only have what I have until/if I win a prize!!!Feedback
Patience, patience, patience. Especially with Mother Nature, patience is key!!!
