Location
I was on vacation in Dubai with my family, and we went up the 126th floor at the Burj Khalifa building. I took this photo from there.Time
This shot was taken in the evening. Luckily I had carried my tripod with me and as soon as we got on the balcony, I whipped dit our and started shooting. The balcony had a wooden floor which shook every time people where moving about.Lighting
Being night time the only way I got get such an effect was by doing a long exposure shot. The black feel of the photo was done in post.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D600 and a 24mm Nikkor lens. I used to shoot a lot on Nikon.Inspiration
Well that fact that I was going to be standing on the world tallest building was all the inspiration I needed. Once up there the spectacular views just grabbed my attention and I tried to get as many shots as I could before my family got bored and dragged me away.Editing
I edited this photo in Photoshop. I shoot raw most of the time so I opened this up in Camera Raw, reduced saturation, increased vibrance, and clarity, and added some contrast. Once inside photoshop I tweaked away and cropped it into a square aspect ratio. I took this photo few years back so I can't remember everything I did to it.In my camera bag
My camera bag now usually has a Canon 5DMkii or iii, Lumix GH4, Lumix G7, and a few lenses.Feedback
Take your time, make sure that you also find a time where you spot is not so busy, playing around with different camera settings, exposures and focal lengths, shoot as many images as possible and boil it all down to one good image,
