Location
I took that photo in a nice and small Italian village situated on a green hill during the usual Corpus Domini Day which takes place there in June every year.Time
In the first evening, about 07 p.m.Lighting
When taking that photo, I knew there was not light enough in the old alley. It was summer and the sun was not yet went down, but there was a sort of particular half-light which made the scene very charming and picturesque. More, there was silence and quiet, which was very important for a precise and attentive shoot.Equipment
When going for a trip, I usually take a good compact camera with me so as to be free and light. So I used the advanced compact camera Sony DSC-HX20V, f/4, 1/80 Shutter Speed, ISO 800, 11 Focal Lenght and no flash.Inspiration
I knew the small village very well and knew its local inhabitants decorated the old streets with a huge variety of flowers during the Corpus Domini Day in June. I choose an old corner, where I knew the religious procession would pass, and immediately captured the scene before someone could step on or unmake that perfumed flowers carpet.Editing
Only a little contrast improvement. In my camera bag
I usually take some lens or filter with me in my bag. In such a case, dealing with a compact camera, I had nothing but a single nice advanced compact camera in my light jacket pocket.Feedback
When taking particular photos, mainly those ones which portray event scenes (religious, sports, feasts, etc.) you need arrive and place yourself in the right corner at once, otherwise you might not find those specific moments and special sensations any more, as the scene can quickly change under your eyes.
