Location
I took it in a small Italian village near the sea. In the evening, every corner of that pictoresque village is full of charm. You only need to find the right point of view so as to take a very touching shot.Time
After the sunset, as soon as the first street lamps begin to light up. There are not many about them because the village is little and most of lamps are old, decorated, different form one to another and have got a particular, mysterious, deep yellow-orange light.Lighting
When you are in front of a street lamp in that kind of village, you find out a strange and appealing atmosphere enshrouding the corner. It' very difficult not to be attracted from that scene and if you have a camera in your hands, you are really lucky to seize the opportunity to take a memorable photo.Equipment
I usually use a reflex camera, a pair of lens, some flash if needed. Seldom have a tripod unless you prepare or project a series of shots which need a particular attention, mainly at sunset, on long exposure shots or by night. In my shot I used a slow lens for night shots.Inspiration
I really love old street corners, in the morning or mainly when they are slightly lighted. In such a case, when I suddenly was in that particular corner of the street which was harly lighed by an old, decorated and original iron-made support, I immediately stopped in the right point of view, picked up my camera and took my shot. There was no one walking in the street, but that little charming stairway over there seemed to be an extraordinary, imaginative bridge full of busy people going at their home.Editing
Not necessarily. I lightly enhanced the contrast and warm light in that night shot.In my camera bag
As already described above. I do not love carry a lot of equipment with me. I think that the better equipment for taking a pretty shot is mainly: convinction, preparation, curiosity, fantasy and a good amount of good luck.Feedback
You need to walk and walk around just like a pioneer searching a particular treasury. Mainly to learn watching every corner and study its building, its stones, lights, windows, stairways, people living there and what it can tell us. At last, a good photo is a simple page of that wonderful and endless book called Life.
