This photo was taken as I was driving through Cape Breton, NS. The beautiful coast lines never disappoint!Time
This is one of my favourite photo's! It was in the afternoon and we we're travelling to visit my mom. Cresting the hill I knew this was one of those - 'pull over' moments.Lighting
I find taking photo's into the sun a bit challenging. However the sun/clouds provided perfect lighting.Equipment
I never leave home without my Nikon. Timing was everything with this shot - I jumped from the car grabbing my phone (LGd853) as my camera wasn't immediately accessible. It's no Nikon, but it sure held it's own for this shot!Inspiration
I love cloud formations! As a child I could stare at the clouds for hours. Big clouds, little clouds, fluffy clouds, storm clouds (those ones I chase if I have the opportunity!). After taking this photo, we stood on the side of the road to simply gaze at the sky. There is no mistaking the Angelic imagery - we were entranced. We eventually made it to Grandmother's house - And We shared a wonderful moment in time together that we still talk about even four years later.Editing
Aside from a bit of cropping I felt that this photo was perfect. In my camera bag
Always my Nikon and 2 lenses; 70-300mm and my 18-55mm. I will usually have my filters and spare memory cards as well. I also learned to never leave home without a spare fully charged battery too :). Lastly, I have to admit I still love a film camera and I still carry my Minolta X700 with multiple lenses. I love the instant gratification of digital. But there is still something to be said the for the mystery and excitement of film photography - especially when you can watch your photo's come to life in a dark room!Feedback
I am fascinated with cloud formations - they can change so fast! Be ready, be patient and don't forget to look up! Let the image come to you and most of all have fun!
