Ladybower Reservoir is owned by Yorkshire water and supplies water for Sheffield and surrounding areas. The bridge in the photo is the beginning of the Snake Pass which, as it's name suggests is a narrow twisting road 12.5 miles long between Ashopton and Glossop. This used to be the main road between Sheffield and Manchester, passing over the Pennines. It was engineered by Thomas Telford and opened in 1821
