In 2007 Greece suffered one of the worst wild fire seasons ever in its recorded history with over 300 fires burning all over the country and a loss of life of over 70 people.. this image is of one of the incredible pilots who took amazing risks fighting the fires in their hydroplanes when Ancient Olympia was surrounded by a fire that destroyed many villages and killed 63 people just in one village.
