Anesti... A Greek born in the former USSR under the reign of Stalin and sent to the gulags in the frozen north.. sentenced to 25 years hard labour for running away from one of the "foreigners" exile camps... Anesti was able to live out his years in Greece where I was lucky enough to have met him.. I was working on a story on former inmates of the Russian concentration camps and asked him if he would pose for me and allow me to photograph his prison tattoos.
