Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in La Jolla California , they have a cool Hang Glider Port located above a Clothing optional State Beach. Hmmm.... no there was no nudest flying.

Time

I took this photo around Magic/Golden Hour. About two Summers ago from this writing. The sky was full of hang-gliders that day, it was pretty neat to watch them flying free in the beautiful Sunset.

Lighting

The golden sky was beautiful. The sun softened by the clouds it made a great natural background and captured the hang-gliders silhouette just right for the picture.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D3100 handheld. I'm trying to remember what lens was used, I believe it was my 55-300 f5.6 from Nikon

Inspiration

I like the sunset and how the pilot was just a shadow in the sky flying high above our Beautiful San Diego Coastline

Editing

No , no post work on this just some cropping off the sides.

In my camera bag

In my bag I have the basics some memory cards, power cords and batteries chargers a few lenses like a 24-70 f2.8, 50 f1.8 and a 70-300 f 5.6 I believe lol I don't remember at the moment. My little DJI Spark wish it shot in RAW. A Nikon D300s, Nikon D3100 and a extra mobile phone to view my photos on since none of my cameras have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and it's a pain to open up my main mobile taking it out of the case powering it off ECT to switch Memory cards in and out of. What can I think of a rechargeable flashlight some business cards and that's about it, my tripod don't fit in my bag pack. When I can I like to keep it simple one camera body and lens to venture out.

Feedback

Be there at the rite time for the exposure you are aiming for, this was shot about 2 Summers ago at Sunset, a telephoto lens worked great. The further the zoom the better. Happy Shooting everyone stay safe.
