Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken on the campus of the Indian Institute of Science. The campus is scenic with a lot of greeneries which seldom found in the other part of the city. There are also a few new buildings which have an excellent architecture.Time
It was taken in the afternoon on an overcast day. That helped me to avoid any harsh shadow.Lighting
This photo was taken on an overcast day. I purposefully took this on an overcast day to avoid any unwanted shadow.Equipment
I used my old faithful Canon 1000D and Sigma 17-70mm lens.Inspiration
I really liked the contrasting colours here. The wall itself looks like an abstract painting. There are strong lines and patterns. The addition of the ladder makes the image for me. I spotted it at a corner of the building. I composed my shot including it in my frame.Editing
I didn't have to do much post processing except little colour correction. As this is an architectural shot I took my time to compose and set up perfect exposure. In my camera bag
Most of the time I carry my Fuji X100s inside my bag. This is because of the size of the camera and images it can produce under different lighting condition. I really like the colour and dynamic range of the camera.Feedback
One of the good things about architectural photography is you can have time to set up and compose your image. But you must also have a good eye to spot nice geometry and patterns.
