Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in December 2009 in Moscow in the studio of my friend photographer Boris Antonov. This is one of my first photo studio sessions. Then my post-production skills were much weaker than it is now. So these photos have lain for several years waiting in the wings.

Time

Of course it was in the evening after the working day.

Lighting

At that time we were busy for a long time with light. We deactivate some light sources and light pushes drawing closer and above on the model. I wanted to get dramatic, eerie, but delicate lighting. Then we called the light "vampire".

Equipment

Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL / 60mm / ƒ/4 / 1/125s / ISO 100 / tripod / flash ...

Inspiration

Muse! Of course I was inspired by the model. This woman is for me a source of inspiration for many years for both photo as well as for painting. Well, besides of course the classics of world literature - Charles Perrault, Bram Stoker, Edgar Allan Poe ...

Editing

Of course, I processed this image very much. I removed the noise and clears up eyes and a bruised eye. I did color correction. Further background I certainly inserted in Photoshop.

Feedback

I think that a good picture is most dependent on the initial creative ideas, talent of model and post processing. Unfortunately I can not give simple advice suitable to any situation.
