Part of a series that I'd like to expand on. Although it's not macro I've found that a 70-250mm zoom lens used in close up has a similar look but the detail obviously suffers but I like to try and make the quirks of the image quality work toward the final result.

One of the regular local cat visitors, this one has a penchant for surreptitiously watching from behind things!

Not sure what it is but I don't believe it's a lilac.
