I went to the Columbus Zoo where I saw a mother gorilla starring at her baby almost as if she was deeply saddened to see him grow up that way, to not know anything different other than a cage. I also saw the love she had in her eyes as if she was mesmerized by the life she created. It was a very powerful moment in my photography career. It made me realize the sadness that these animals feel. As beautiful as they may be, they deserve to be free.
