Location
This is The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad that runs between Durango and Silverton Colorado.Time
Around 9 am and it was a cool Autumn day.Lighting
The lighting was natural daylight on a mostly cloudy day.Equipment
My camera is a Nikon D-800 with a Nikon 28-300mm lensInspiration
I have a fascination with old means of transportation. Old cars, boats and trains.Editing
I do a little post processing. I adjust the levels and add a little vibrance to make the photo as close to the way my eye remembers the scene. In my camera bag
I normally carry 2 cameras as well as several lenses. I carry UV, neutral density and polarizer filters. Several batteries as well as camera cleaning equipment.Feedback
Go out and plan your shot before hand, scouting for great places and angles as well as checking the natural lighting. Normally the best time for shooting landscapes is early morning or late afternoon. plan on shooting for several days as you never know what Mother Nature is going to throw at you. Check train schedules to know when the train is going pass.
