Such a rare opportunity to witness watching this Galapagos sea lion give birth. Standing there watching her quiet effort as she delivered her pup. This pic is her first touch with her pup.....she pushed it as she, like us waited for its first breath. As soon as it breathed, she moved it around more and started talking to it. Finally, the wee pup weakly answered back and you knew that mum was teaching it her voice. One of the most surreal moments of my life. Wildlife at its best.
