Moraine Lake is a visually stunning, glacially fed lake located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks in Banff National Park. It is a brilliant aqua blue color because of the glacial rock flour that enters with the melting ice. The tiny particles of rock scraped off by glaciers are so light, they float in water. The color varies from cobalt blue to chrome green as the rock flour disperses in the lake.
