It's always a thrill to come across a koala in the wild. I was very fortunate to spot this little fellow as he was scampering across the forest floor while changing trees. He is only a young fellow, one of only 200-400 koalas situated in a bush suburban suburb on the Gold Coast, Australia. I reported his whereabouts and condition to the local koala reseach and monitoring group. I knew he was a "he" due to the tag on his left ear. Always happy to help keep an eye on this vulnerable, iconic little Aussie critter.
