Impala (Rooibok - Redbuck)

The impala antelope is by 10 fold or more the most abundant antelope specie in the sizable Kruger NP at times touching the 100,000 mark. Mainly for 3 reasons
1. Dominant males will acquire a harem of females a many as they can defend as much as 30 40 50 depending on food availability as well
2. One of the few species that is very adapted to both browsing more so in the dry season or grazing that are plenty full in the wet season
3. One of their unique adaptations in that the females can delay birth up to one month to coincide with the first good spring or summer rain
