10 am in the morning .. had to wait until the sun was shining on the end of the log they were in.Lighting
Natural sunlight.. the better the lighting the better the photoEquipment
I used an Olympus E5 camera.. sat on the beach with my tripod set up and snapped these two every time they popped their heads out. I never use a flashInspiration
Its not easy to get close to these birds as a rule so I grabbed the opportunity as I saw it that day.Editing

Try .. get plenty of light on subject and as close as you can get if its wild life / nature pix you are taking. take some snaps and then move slightly closer ..u will scare them off in end but you will have got some great shots lol
