This was taken at Deer Run Lake near Crossville, Tennessee on the Cumberland Plateau.Time
I am an early riser so while waiting for my family to get up, I went exploring the property. It was about 7 in the morning and still a little chilly for a September morning in the mountains.Lighting
Nature's light is the best light to me. Nothing can be more peaceful watching the sunrise and that was what I had been doing.Equipment
The picture was taken with a Coolpix L120. A very simple camera for a very simple person. If the shot is there, you don't need all the bells and whistles.Inspiration
The intensity in the colors of the trees just caught my eye. The fiery reds, oranges, and greens all blended together perfectly. The reflection in the water was absolutely mesmerizing. It was just so calm and peaceful, I had to snap the picture. The picture will never do the scene justice.Editing
When I took the picture, I was so new to the hobby that it wasn't even a hobby for me yet. It was a point and click moment for me and had no idea what post-processing was. But honestly, there is very little improvement needed .In my camera bag
Unfortunately. there is nothing in my bag at the present. Life's demands took my time away!! Perhaps soon I will find something to refill the bag.Feedback
You have to let your heart talk to you. Let the scenery pull you in to it. You have to find something that you truly appreciate on all levels. This scenery just cried out to me and I had to stop and look and listen to what it was saying to me. Explore your emotions. Explore what you are feeling when you are out shooting and find something to match them. Hear the whispering and heed it when it tells you to take the shot. Don't pass up the chance as it may never come around again.
