My image was taken at The Windmill Art Studios at Linton, Cambridgeshire, Uk. The studios were named after an old windmill which unfortunately lost it's sails a long time age. However, the windmill sits in very large grounds and in the grounds there is a large house, an old derelict covered swimming pool, various statues, old buildings and woods. In a nutshell, many interesting places to photograph models. This image of Laura was taken in the main house, which had a large studio.Time
The shot was taken around 4pm as I recall, inside the main house.Lighting
The room in the house had a very large window, where natural daylight flooded in. On this image I also had the help of a single light stand with a strobe.Equipment
I was using my Nikon D750 coupled with the 24-120mm f4 lens, Soft Box strobe lighting.Inspiration
I was taking part in a studio day event organised by the British Disabled Photographers Society, held at the Windmill Art studios. We had four models which we could photograph throughout the day in and around the grounds of The Windmill Art studios. I might add all the models were very professional and indeed helpful. Often suggesting poses which are gratefully received when people have not photographed models before. A special mention goes to Laura J Draycon, the model in my image. I know all the models can be found at Purpleport.com Laura was a fantastic model, special thanks go to Laura.Editing
I use Lightroom and Photoshop, the normal processing in LR, I cropped the image and made it a bit more high key in photoshop with appropriate sharpening. In my camera bag
My trusty Nikon D750, 24-120mm lens, various filters. I also have an older Canon 600D along with the fantastic 70-200mm f2.8 L lens, 24-70mm f2.8 L lens. Tripod.Feedback
I know many photographers in Viewbug are very capable of dealing with people/models. However to those photographers who may be nervous about photographing professional models, don't be. 95% of models have worked with photographers before and will no doubt know how to pose and make your experience worthwhile. So if photographing models has held you back, just go for it.
