Location
This photo was taken along 'Allée des Baobabs' in Madagascar, just on the side of the road. This was during a roadtrip I did with my parents in 2015. It was stunning, memories that will last forever!Time
The spot is famous for its baobabs and their silhouette in the sunset. So we passed there in the middle of the day and came back for sunset. That's when this photo was taken.Lighting
You just can't explain the light in Madagascar, it's magical. The golden rays passing by the trees, reflecting in the puddles, breathtaking!Equipment
This was taken with my Nikon D5100 and kitlens Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G at 40mm, f/9, 1/320s on ISO 100.Inspiration
The surroundings and the light where the only inspiration needed to take this photo. It was unbelievable.Editing
Almost no post-processing is done on this apart from some sharpening. The moment itself was already perfect ;)In my camera bag
I upgraded some of my gear since I took this photo but still have my Nikon D5100. I normally have a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 with me, as well as a Nikon 35mm f1.8 and Nikon 55-200mm f4-5.6. And if I really feel like it, I take my Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 to take some wildlife photographs. Next to that I have my small gorillapod with me and an old Bilora tripod (which I definitely need to replace ;) ). I can carry all of this with my Thule Perspektiv daypack.Feedback
My advice is, don't hesitate, go for it! If you want to capture beautiful moments, go out and explore. You don't need to go far, I have already shot some really nice sunsets in my hometown. Equipment doesn't matter, what matters is being in the right spot at the right time. You can have the best camera in the world, but if you're not in the right spot, it doesn't help you any further. So, go for it, explore and experience! - Robin.
