When out rowing one early morning, I encountered a bear swimming across the lake, right in my path. It isn't easy taking a photo while rowing; if you let go of the oars, you go swimming. In addition, the only small point n shoots can be carried onboard and this one was brand new. I had some difficulty staying in a position to get a photo while keeping up with the bear - they swim surprisingly fast! So although it certainly isn't the best quality photo, it is unique because it isn't often one encounters a bear in the path of your morning row!
