Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in our mountain house al about 900m on Liguria pre-Alps (Italy) the location is a place famous for mushrooms, called Veirera, Sasssello (SV)

Time

That's afternoon, and it had just rained a bit, in autumn in winter, foggy days are not uncommon, and the wood acquires a something mystical

Lighting

In truth, once in the woods, in this fog every view is fascinating, in this case, the light to the west, the sun was not so far gave that shade the background that made it even more special

Equipment

I used my usual manfrotto lightweight tripod, and one of my DSLR bodies, a modest Canon 600D with the trusty Canon EF 50mm.

Inspiration

The thing that caught my eye was surely these two hugged trees, from which I drew inspiration for the title, and those golden leaves, a natural composition ready, I had to make just "Click"

Editing

I took the photos as always in diaphragm aperture bracketing and the three shots was processed in HDR, trying to keep the natural tones and naturally as possible. I do not like surreal processing

In my camera bag

I do not like to take me to have too much weight with me, and with the house next to the forest, we can afford small outputs, often only with a wide angle lens, and the trusty 50mm, sometimes even with 100mm macro for any particular.

Feedback

The advice I give, in addition to always bring the good 50mm that allows a good framing, is that in these conditions of fog, can often change, the fog can quickly raise or lower it, and we must seize the moment!
