Thank you for the comment. Looks like she has been sitting there for years judging by the sagging tracks. The shades of rust made for a beautiful capture.

the slight tilt makes me think of her racing around a corner with a full head of steam

Behind The Lens

Location

Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Time

Mid afternoon.

Lighting

Natural sunlight.

Equipment

KODAK EASYSHARE Z915 DIGITAL CAMERA. This camera is a bit old with 10 MPs. I purchased it as it has a 10X zoom. I'm an old 35MM file kinda guy so the zoom lens was a desired feature.

Inspiration

The varied colors of rust caught my eye. I couldn't get close as this engine was on a siding in the rail yard and this is where the zoom lens came into play. I was able to frame the engine and snap away. This was a family outing to Steamtown National Park. We have just disembarked from the train ride and I wanted to take more pictures. The family wanted to leave. Hence this was one of the final shots of the day.

Editing

No post processing. This is as shot.

In my camera bag

My equipment is the camera relying on the zoom capability of the camera to frame each shot.

Feedback

If you see something interesting take several pictures. There is always one that is better than the other. Change the zoom, angle or tweak the exposure.
