Location
This photo was taken at Manly Beach in New South Wales. I am a self taught photographer so every shot I take, I learn from to make my next shots even better.Time
It was my birthday, so that morning I got up at 6:00am and grabbed my camera bag and walked down to the beach so I could take a photo of the sunrise. I had never seen a sunrise from the beach before so I thought it was a great opportunity to go and see one on my birthday. I sat on the beach and waited for the sun to rise. When it finally did it was the most beautiful thing I had seen, it was so breathtaking. This shot was taken on the 13th March, 2016 at 7:08am.Lighting
I didn't really know what kind of lighting I was going to get from the sun when rising from the horizon so I had no expectations.Equipment
This photo was shot with a Canon 40D, with a EF-S 17-85mm F/4-5.6 IS USM lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
When I had got to the beach I knew that I wanted my shot to have the sky and the water in the frame to show the clashing waves against the sand to the bright vibrant sky.Editing
As soon as I got home I downloaded my photos onto my computer. I edit all my photos to make them look just that bit better whether it is toning them down to a black and white photo or making the colours vibrant and to stand out. For this photo I made the colours in the sky bright so it would draw the viewers attention to the photo. In my camera bag
I always have my Canon 40D and EF-S 17-85mm F/4-5.6 IS USM lens with me where ever I go and in my camera bag I have my FS 75-300mm F/4-5.6 III USM lens.Feedback
Whenever taking a photo of a sunrise make sure to get to the location well before the sun pops up over the horizon otherwise you will be fiddling with your equipment while the sun is rising and you might miss the time for the perfect shot. So make sure everything is prepared.
