The start of a sunflower that will probably not fully bloom as the weather is starting to change towards autumn; however slight. its existance is the result of seed dropped from a tube bird feeder by the side of the house. i pulled the levels down quite a bit in photoshop to simplify the background by darkening it, and burned in the yellow bud; the later might not have been necessary.
