Kurile Lake is known for its high concentration of brown bears and salmon fish. During the summer the salmon swims upstream to the lake for breeding purposes, while the brown bear is preparing for the cold and harsh winter, which means it has to eat a lot before winter comes. Seeing a bear catching salmon fish happens quite often during does days sometime within minutes from one catch to another.
